Hey there! I'm Farid. My tech journey started in the early 2000s by breaking my own computer - a lot. Turns out those moments of panic trying to fix what I broke taught me more than I expected. Certifications were really hyped during those days, and getting one was a dream for me back then. I got my first real start in IT with a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification focused on Windows XP. I went on to get my MCSE. Over the years, I have collected various certifications while diving deep into the Microsoft ecosystem. I have spent my career architecting, implementing, administering, and maintaining networks.

I have dabbled in various programming languages - PowerShell, Python, C, C++, Java, Visual Basic - but C# is my go-to. There's just something about it that clicks with me. While I don't consider myself a developer by any stretch, I have used C# and PowerShell to build small apps and automate various tasks for my day-to-day job. I intend to spend more time on C# in the future because I find it very rewarding. These days, I'm increasingly fascinated by the world of cybersecurity. When I'm not handling security in my day job, you'll find me going through CTFs on different platforms or breaking things in my Homelab. I've built a pretty decent setup at home where I can break things without getting angry emails from users! It's not just work for me - I genuinely enjoy this stuff and am always trying to learn more. The security field keeps me on my toes because there's always something new to learn, some new technique to understand, or some service to harden. Unlike the popular trend, I find the defensive side more interesting than offensive. Blue teamer for life! My goal is to share my journey of learning different aspects of IT and cybersecurity with everyone, and hopefully someone else can find at least one useful thing here! I will post my write-ups for CTFs and things that interest me here for everyone to see. One last thing, here's a photo of my best friend in the world. I've spent a lot of hours staring at my monitor, and this little friend 🐶 is always by my side!
